beau has the camera now, he's taking photos. expect to see some funky shots later on.
Gena came back. When I got up a while ago, I heard her jump on a screen window at the back of the house. I opened the door and there she was, sitting there. Miss purry-fluffy big mouth is home! She ate and now she's purring up a storm, and can't seem to get enough petting! She seems just fine, she's not stinky or dirty or matted. She's sitting here next to me washing her face.
We won't ever know where she spent the last 3 days, but Beau and I are glad she's back. ~Phinney

This is Beau, Phinney's son. When my mom woke up, she went downstairs and I was still upstairs, just getting up. Then I heard her call me, I couldn't understand at first, but she said that Gena was back and that she had jumped on the screen. Then she opened the back door and she rushed right in. And then she just ate and ate and when she came back it reminded me of another cat that ran away named Shadow, and the same thing happened to him last summer, except his eyes were big and round. But my dad now took him to live with him and my granny, but a few days later my grandpa's cat beat him up and he went around the house and ran away into the forest, and we don't know if he's gonna come back or not, I hope he does. ~Beau

Feline Friday - here, at (sometimes)photoblog.
Gena hasn't been seen for over 48 hours. She hasn't come home!
Four months ago we had 5 cats, now we have only 2??
Gena, come home!!
I hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day.
I sat around taking naps and doing a
whole bunch of nothing!
I was outside taking photos of my tulip when Genavieve
decided to explore the shallow 'well' in our front yard.
It's not so much a well as it is a "hide the water run-off
area" and platform for our decorative water fountain in
the summer months. It really is pretty when the
water is flowing out of the old-fashioned hand pump.
She was not very amused when, after several attempts to
climb out, she had to sit inside and appeal to me for help.
I don't think she minded waiting while I snapped a
few photos. She was fine. She was only in there for
two minutes and all I had to do to 'rescue' her was
pick up one of the boards that lies across the top of
the brick enclosure. I just couldn't resist
that "AWW!" face!!
Play along with Feline Friday here. All of the
kitties are celebrating an anniversary of sorts.
Steven and Pickle have been hosting Feline Fridays
for six months now. Go say meow!!
Here is a link to a wonderful entry Steven has
posted - "Blog: Six-Pack-Cats" - it artfully showcases
our cats, their humans, their journals and blogs with
many a "tail" to (show and) tell!!! It's a beautiful tribute
that includes a colorful photo grid of the now-famous
Pickle in all his multi-hued glory. Thank you Steven!
I guess I should actually say 'no news'. I haven't mentioned this yet because I kept thinking he would be found. Or would come home. But he hasn't
About a month ago, on the last day of March, my child's father decided to take Shadow over to his house to visit with the other cat. Well. Shadow wasn't there much more than 24 hours - - he left. David's father's cat apparently beat him up first. On April 1st I was told that 'Shadow took off' and he wasn't anywhere to be found. That day was Shadow's 6th birthday. He was a gift to my son on his 4th birthday
I kept (keep) thinking that Shadow will turn up. It's several miles from that house to ours, and people say that animals sometimes do come home. Yesterday it was one month since he's been gone
This is the original photo that I turned that wonderful rosy pink shade the other day. Just wanted to show you it's colorful, sunshiney beauty as it was when I took it.
Most of you correctly guessed RED on my B&W tulip photo. Did anyone catch the clue? My name is printed on the photo in red. hehehe.
