Photo taken by my 16 year old niece Holly
Paris, France - April 2005.
Time to forget about the cold weather for just a moment and go back in time.
These photos are by Dave, my oldest stepson.
Last summer at his grandparents' house.
Mom's cat Mitzie on Thanksgiving Day.
She spent most of the evening under this skirted table in the living room, avoiding the noisy comings and goings of family people.
Mitzie is one of two white cats in my parents home. She showed up one day out of nowhere years ago, and just stayed. Their other cat is Moses. I will try another time to get a photo of him. I wasn't feeling like crawling under the bed last night to find him!
I give thanks for all that I have.
Today I will not mourn what I do not have.
I will keep close to my heart loved ones
who can't be with us today.
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
My first thought when I saw this kitty back in May was to name him Darth Vader.
I was over-ruled by the other inhabitants of my home. Amy, Maggie and Marty, formerly of Yuppieville, got a black kitty and named him Baby Darth.
Now, I ask you, wouldn't that have been the proper name for Jinx?
He seems to be a fan.
It's very interesting how much this new photo editing
program can do. I created this last night.
From the photo posted above. Wow.
Yesterday afternoon I walked out my front door, put the
camera on zoom and macro settings - and looked up.
Our oak tree was splendid in the sunlight,
and the sky was exactly this color. I didn't enhance it at all.

I think it's incredibly lovely.

First Grade Thanksgiving Feast
Elementary School
I had this ready, was saving it for Feline Friday.
I'm thinking there probably won't be one this week.
Maybe never again.
Well, here's Shadow. I like the look of this photo. It was fun
taking it, and fun editing it! I hope you like it.

I did my errands and little bit of running around
this morning, tending to things I was
responsible for. On the way home,
I stopped once again at the little pond
across the street.
It's another beautiful day in central
Connecticut. To just be outside, breathing in
the fresh Autumn air, watching the calm blue
water was enough to fill my insides, at least
for now, with peace.
Jinx, doing what Jinx does best.
Hanging out in the boondocks of the backyard.
Perhaps he's interested in helping get that deck finished?
While driving Beau to school on Monday, I turned left
out of our driveway and this sky was right before
my eyes ~ ! I had to stop for a second and get
this shot. I do not leave home anymore
without the camera. See why?
I just played with my new photo editing program,
and am proud to say I made this second image
all by myself. Just can't figure out how to
add my signature on it, the font comes out
HUGE and I don't know how to change it.
Will practice more!
Last week we had one VERY blustery day. I was leaving my son's school, and looked up to admire the clouds (as usual!) and I noticed that the flag in front of the school was flying and flapping with glee! I stopped and took a few shots, and this is my favorite. I like the curl at the bottom of the flag, and the leaves on the old tree. Last week and most of this week the weather has been AMAZING! Autumn in Connecticut at its absolute peak.
Until yesterday, I had no idea what I was going to do about this latest Round Robin topic, Wabi-Sabi. I planned on skipping this round, too. Then I saw this ~ a tiny sprout on an old tree, with two hopeful leaves still hanging on. The beginning of a new branch, I believe ~ simple, rustic, incomplete.

The pond 2 blocks from my house. Don't ask me why I never took photos of it before now. I don't know!!
Kinda-sorta forget it's there. Indeed, Kat, you should kick me! LOL! Anyway, yeah, central Connecticut, a little pond tucked away near my house, and floating around on a sunny November afternoon are...seagulls.
